He later studied art at Westminster School of Art under Bernard Meninsky and the Slade School under Randolph Schwabe. On leaving, he had his first solo exhibition at the Redfern Gallery, London in 1937. During World War II he served in the Middlesex Regiment and then in the Camouflage Unit of the Royal Artillery, where he worked on preparations for the D-Day landings.... Read full biography

On leaving, he had his first solo exhibition at the Redfern Gallery, London in 1937. During World War II he served in the Middlesex Regiment and then in the Camouflage Unit of the Royal Artillery, where he worked on preparations for the D-Day landings. He ended the war with the rank of major. During the period 1949-62 he had five solo exhibitions at the Redfern Gallery, two at the Mayor Gallery and in 1963 one at the Juster Gallery, New York.
