Until the age of 32, he was an official of the First Danube-Steamboat-Company, and in 1890 became a port official who was responsible as a harbor recorder for the book keeping of the revenues in Orsova (Romania), later in Beograd and in Regensburg. He committed himself mainly to landscape watercolours.
