George Garner Phipps through a friend's painting, a wedding gift, of a steam ship on Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. "It was a wedding present to her parents and my friend is 82 years old so the painting is pretty old. It's a long painting over 2 ft. long and about 1 foot high.". Sources are several museums in Newton Highlands, Massachusetts, home town of the artist. His house at 1193 Walnut is no longer there.... Read full biography
