Georges Récipon (1860-1920) was an important French sculptor who was also active as a painter. He was the son of the gold- and silversmith Paul Edmond Récipon (1832-1898). He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris with Augustin Dumont and exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1879. In 1888, he became a member of the Association des Artists Francais.
