In the years around 1948, the young artist traveled to Brazil, Chile and Peru, where he took part in the Biennale di San Paolo in 1951 and 1953. In 1954, Strazza returned to Italy and had his first solo exhibition at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne. In 1964 he established himself in Rome and increasingly focused on etching.
