He was born in Argentina and received the Konex Platinum Award in 1982 as the most important surrealist painter in the history of Argentina. Roux's work shows a strong influence of surrealism and includes pieces such as El collar de perlas, La valse, Isolabella, Paisaje con el Etna, and Maja y torero con instrumentos musicales. In the 1990s, he produced a large work entitled Mujer y máscaras, which is on display at the Galerías Pacífico in Buenos Aires.
