Curt Johannes Georgi was a German painter, graphic artist, and illustrator born in Dresden in 1901. He trained as a teacher from 1915 to 1922 and studied at the Dresden School of Applied Arts. In 1926, he participated in the international art exhibition in Dresden and became a member of the German Association of Artists in 1927. From 1926 to 1931, he studied philosophy, German, history, and pedagogy at the Technical University of Dresden. Georgi was drafted into military service in 1939 but resumed teaching from 1940. He became a member of the VBK of the GDR in 1952 and went on numerous study trips throughout his career. He passed away in Malschendorf in 1989.
