German painter, Hans Breinlinger became a photographer before studying at the Karlsruhe academy under W. Trüber since 1910. Breinlinger exhibited successfully in South Germany before he was introduced to the Berlin society by his brother-in-law Lovis Corinth. He exhibited with the local secession in 1932. In the following year he also exhibited at the world fair in Chicago. Some of his works were seized as 'degenerate' by the Nazis in 1937. His studio in Berlin burnt in 1943 and he returned to... In the following year he also exhibited at the world fair in Chicago. Some of his works were seized as 'degenerate' by the Nazis in 1937. His studio in Berlin burnt in 1943 and he returned to South Germany after the war. Breinlinger also made many glass windows and murals for churches.
