Heinrich Buntzen was a German-Danish landscape painter. After lessons with the Bünsow brothers, Buntzen continued his education autodidactically. He then studied at the Copenhagen Academy under L. Lund and J. P. Möller. In his early paintings he followed Eckersberg's example, and went on study trips that took him to Dresden, Munich and Rome.
