While at the League she was a student of long-time, prominent instructor Frank DuMond (1865-1951), whom she later married. In the late 1890s, she went to Paris and studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts with Raphael Collin and Luc Olivier Merson. She also exhibited work at the Paris Salon in 1897 and 1898.
