Henry Jutsum, a landscape painter, was born in London in 1816. He first exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1836 and in 1839 he became a student of James Stark. In 1843, having turned his attention to watercolor painting, he was elected a member of the New Water-Colour Society but withdrew from it in 1847.
