Quintanilla's work is associated with the new Spanish realism movement, and she was a member of the group Realistas Madrileños. Her paintings and drawings often depicted still lifes of everyday objects, and she was known for her ability to accurately capture texture using diffused light. One of her works, a drawing of a newborn lying on a changing table, is held in the collection of the Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin
