Israel was responsible for organizing The Toledo Independent Artist Club in Toledo in 1932. He donated his services for the interest of Art and to help the ones that wanted his help. Elected officers were Paul Cahill, John Blum, Frank Sattick, Dean Sloger, and Hazel Jacoby Harbaur. They would meet on Sunday mornings for outdoor drawings and Friday evenings to sketch from models. Each member paid 25 cents to cover rent and models, which were taken off the streets or the local 'flop house' at Erie and Orange Street. Their interest in Art was so great they all signed up...
