He participated in an exhibition of abstract art in the same year, which caused a scandal and was closed after the second day. Despite facing poverty after the Civil War, Sucre gradually regained his contacts and activities. He played an important organizational role in the first October Salon held in 1948. In 1962, he was awarded the Juan Gris Prize for his pictorial career, and in 1964, a book of his memoirs was published. Sucre's works can be found in the MACBA in Barcelona, the Gargallo Museum in Zaragoza, and other public and private collections.
