Reading the German philosophers Arthur Schopenhauer and Friedrich Nietzsche also contributed to Kje's thought development, in which he found the theme of the curse of the material world, which he reflected in his author's books. In contrast to the decadent style of the Modern Revue artists, Váchal did not try to aestheticize his works, on the contrary, his style bore the signs of the primitivism of the Assyrian expression.
