He trained with Modest Urgell and later traveled to Paris and Rome to complete his apprenticeship. Roig Soler was devoted to landscape painting, particularly coastal environments and the Pyrenees, but also urban landscapes. His style was close to impressionism and he was known for his preoccupation with light. He exhibited in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, and Zaragoza and won several prizes. Roig Soler was awarded the Third Medal at the National Fine Arts Exhibition of 1887 and is represented in the collections of the Museums of Modern Art in Barcelona and Madrid.
