In 1952, he created a series of drawings based upon American magazines, titled Amerika. Lhoták exhibited in Prague, Berlin and Vienna. From childhood, he would paint and draw motorcycles, cars and bicycles. As his career progressed so he would ascend to depicting airships, planes, and in the instance of the current lot, a balloon.
