At the end of secondary school in Mitau (Latvia), he studied at the IAH FE Burov, II Shishkin and YY Clover class of landscape painting. He took part in the annual autumn exhibition in the halls of IAH in the 1906-1915 biennium. In 1918, he returned to his native country, where he continued to paint and hold exhibitions. In 1921, he participated in the exhibition of works of Russian artists. His works are kept in the State History Museum of Latvia, the State Art Museum of Latvia and others.
