He became a graduate student at the Graphic art department in 1922 and 1923. He took a study tour of Italy and visited Paris, while working in Nagybánya and Felsobányain the mid twenties, and from 1927, participated in the exhibitions of KUT and the Munkácsy Guild regularly form 1927. Patko spent time in Rome between 1929 and 1932, as a scholarship holder of the Collegium Hungaricum.
