Léo Laporte-Blairsy was born in 1867. Léo Laporte-Blairsy trained in the workshops of Alexandre Falguière and Antonin Mercié at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. The artist exhibited regularly at the Salon des artistes français and won a silver medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. In addition to his war memorials, Léo Laporte-Blairsy produced Art Nouveau style statuettes of young women in historicist or local costumes. The artist passed away in 1923.... Read full biography
