Moshe Proppes, the painter, was born in Poland in 1922. Proppes immigrated in 1925. Moshe studied at the Grande Chaumiere in Paris. From 1939-48 he taught at Schwarzman's studio with David Handel and at the Histadrut Studio, directed by Aharon Avni. He also taught at the studio of Streichman and Stematsky and in 1960 he taught at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv. In 1948 Moshe was a Cultural Officer of the Givati Brigade. From 1939-48 he taught at Schwarzman's studio with David Handel and at the Histadrut Studio, directed by Aharon Avni. He also taught at the studio of Streichman and Stematsky and in 1960 he taught at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv. In 1948 Moshe was a Cultural Officer of the Givati Brigade.
