Peter Paul Müller was born in 1866 in Sankt Goar-Werlau . From 1901, Peter used the artist name "Müller-Werlau". He was a German genre and landscape painter as well as sculptor. In 1879 he held an apprenticeship as a baker in Endenich near Bonn. He was then a sculpture, painting and drawing pupil of Albert Küppers in Bonn and from 1890 studied sculpture at the Academy in Munich with Wilhelm von Rümann. He later trained in Dresden.
