His horses are rendered using the anatomical conventions of the early to mid 19th Century and are reminiscent of racing paintings of the same time. His first recorded work is a wax model entitled The Baron ,which he exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1855. His first recorded work is a wax model entitled The Baron ,which he exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1855. He also exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1861 and 1877, including a plaster model of Post Horse in 1867, and a plaster model and bronze version of A Hunter with a Huntsman Up Blowing a Horn in 1876. The Broquin and Laine founders are thought to have cast his works.
