Reinhold Ewald was born in Hanau in 1890. There he studied at the Royal Drawing Academy from 1907-1907. From 1907-11 he studied at the Unterrichtsanstalt des Kunstgewerbemuseums in Berlin, among others with Emil Orlik and Bruno Paul. By 1910, Ewald was already represented at the annual exhibition of the Berlin Secession. He returned to Hanau in 1911 before taking a trip to Italy in 1913. He also served in the war in 1915. From 1907-11 he studied at the Unterrichtsanstalt des Kunstgewerbemuseums in Berlin, among others with Emil Orlik and Bruno Paul. By 1910, Ewald was already represented at the annual exhibition of the Berlin Secession. He returned to Hanau in 1911 before taking a trip to Italy in 1913. He also served in the war in 1915. Reinhold Ewald in 1921 began teaching at the drawing academy in Hanau. From 1925 he was councilor of studies. In 1929 he was awarded the honorary prize of the city of Frankfurt am Main.
