Later he expanded his training at the School of Fine Arts in Malaga, Spain where he had as teachers Álvarez Dumond, Burgos Oms, Murillo Carreras and Bermúdez Gil. He studied at the Academia de San Fernando for five years, at the end of which he obtained the Extraordinary Prize of Fine Arts and the Carmen del Río scholarship, which allowed him to study in Rome in 1951.
