Among his mentors was the African-American painter Alex John, who introduced him to the work of the French Impressionists and the Centre d'Art in Port au Prince, Haiti. Saint-Brice was illiterate for his entire life; the dealer Issa el Saieh taught him how to sign his name on his paintings. Brice passed away in 1973.... Read full biography
