October 27] 1876 – 24 November 1959), also known as Stefan Erzia, was an Erzya Mordvin sculptor who lived in Russia and Argentina. Erzya chose his pseudonym after the native ethnic group. He was born October 27, 1876, in the village Bayevo, Alatyrsky Uyezd, Simbirsk Governorate of Russian Empire.
