Valentin Ilyich Vorobyov, born in 1938 in Russia, is an artist, writer, and a prominent figure of the "second Russian avant-garde." He studied at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography from 1958 to 1961 under V. Favorsky and Yu. Pimenov. Vorobyov participated in the "Bulldozer" exhibition and later emigrated to France in 1975. He is known for his work in the style of geometric abstraction. In 2005, his autobiography titled "Enemy of the People: Memories of an Artist" was published.
