Yannis Spyropoulos studied at the School of Fine Arts (1930 - 1936) with Silver and E. Thomopoulos. With a scholarship of the Academy of Athens he continued his studies in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-Art in free workshops. He returned to Greece in 1939 where he worked until his death. His work starts from naturalistic objects and gradually unreels in a conscious way towards the extreme achievements of abstraction.
