Alexei Kostroma was born in 1962, and studied in 1989 at the Repin Institute in St. Petersburg painting. Two years later he founded the "DO-I-TAM" group and began with a kind of inventory concept by where he knew natural things are associated with numbers. Soon after, the idea of creating actions and installations in which he enveloped objects, people and animals in pens or left to fill entire rooms with fluff emerged. From 1997, the artist set himself increasingly apart in experimental and theoretical ways with color. Since 2003 lives and Alexei Kostroma works in Berlin.
