Fundamental influences, in those years, came from a family friend who used to visit their home and taught him the main techniques of painting, and from the apprenticeship that he served in his father's workshop. In 1975, after graduating from art school, he enrolled in the Accademia di Belle Arti in Turin and Asti. In Turin, in particular, he attended the lessons in figure painting at the Accademia Libera del Nudo and a specialization course in techniques of restoration in Florence.
