Augusto Corelli was born in Italy in 1853. Corelli received his training in Rome at the Accademia di San Luca and in Naples with Achille. From Rome he traveled to Lazio and Abruzzo to find themes and attractive motifs. In 1880 Corelli discovered the small, picturesque village of Anticoli Corrado on a ridge. Corelli was fascinated and delighted both by the place itself and by its residents, and was the first artist to set up a permanent studio there. His preference was for watercolor as a medium...
