He left the Academy in 1893 with the title of class artist. Boris Issakovitch Egis continued his training in Paris at the Académie Julian and the Académie Colarossi. In 1917 he and Kostandi were elected as representatives of the community to the Odessa Union of Plastic Arts. From 1920 Boris Issakovitch Egis lived and worked in Constantinople, moving to Paris in 1929 and settling in Vilna from 1930 onward.
