From 1958 to 1962, Dieter Krieg (1937-2005) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe under HAP Grieshaber and Herbert Kitzel. He received teaching assignments and later, in 1978, a professorship at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, which he held until 2002. Dieter Krieg is one of the painters of the Neue Figuration, who turned away from then prevailing abstraction and turned to a figurative painting. Dieter Krieg was awarded with many art prizes. (cko)
