His mentors and advisers include Fu Baoshi, Chen Zhifo, and many other influential Chinese artists. Ding begun his artistic research and creation in 1978. His works have been features in more than twenty exhibitions in Britain, Japan, France, United States, Russia, Australia, and China. He has also published ten individual albums, and more than thirty academic journals. His works are now permanently collected by Museums all over China and in Germany. Ding is currently the Vice Chairman of the Chinese Paintings Art Committee, a member of the Chinese Arts Committee and Chinese Literature Committee, and many others. He moved to Beijing in 2002.
