Hans Werdehausen was a German artist born in Bochum in 1910. He was a co-founder of the artist group "junger westen" with Emil Schumacher in 1948. Werdehausen was known for his Abstract Expressionist paintings and in 1956, he was awarded the German Continental Prize of the International Guggenheim Foundation in New York. He participated in documenta II in Kassel in 1959. Werdehausen passed away in Bödexen near Höxter in 1977.
