Hector Doukas was born in Izmir in 1885. He later died in Athens in 1969. He was a distinguished Greek painter, who formed a unique style between academicism, impressionism and expressionism. Hector Doukas initially studied painting at the Academy of Munich in the workshop of Ludwig von Lofftz (Ger., Ludwig von Löfftz), and then at the Academy Julien (gal., Académie Julian) in Paris.
