Heinrich Krause was born in 1885 in Rodaun. He studied at the Vienna Academy under Julius Berger, Christian Giepenkerl, Kasimir Pochwalski and finally Albin Egger-Lienz, who deeply influenced him. Krause was a member of the Vienna Secession since 1914 and Honorary Member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus since 1937. His works can nowadays be found in renowned collections such as the Albertina and the Belvedere Palace in Vienna. Krause died in 1985.
