Heinz Kroh studied at the AK Düsseldorf under Gebhardt, Janssen, and Maennchen, as well as in Munich. He was active in Cologne from 1920 and served as the chairman of the Cologne group of the Reich Economic Association of Fine Artists until 1929. Kroh was involved in the Great Düsseldorf Art Exhibition until 1933 when he faced repression by the Nazi regime. He later settled in Cologne-Buchforst.
