He frequented the Montparnasse studios of Othon Friesz and Ossip Zadkine and exhibited for the first time at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles. Jean began in a lyrical spontaneity where the gushing writing took precedence over formal research and everything became movement to reach the sign in monochromy.
