Johann Hamza lived from 1850 to 1925. Johann Hamza was born in Telc near Moravia in 1850. He studied at the Vienna Academy under the guidance of Eduard von Engerth. Along with the artists Isidor Kaufmann and Josef Gisela he was supported by the art dealer Schwarz and brought the genre painting to a second bloom.
