Born in 1860, he lived in London and was educated in Paris in Bouguereau's Atelier at the Academie Julian. In his youth he exhibited in the Salon de la Societé des Arts between 1887 and 1889. A typically elegant portrait of the Australian beauty Miss Evelyn Gayre was incorporated into the private gallery of the Queen of England in 1914.
