After graduating from Hongik University’s College of Fine Arts, Lee Kun-yong organized ST (Space and Time Sculpture Society) in 1969 and actively participated in AG (Avant-Garde Association) activities, carrying out avant-garde art activities. In particular, the series developed from the mid-1970s shows a method of recording the trajectory and traces of the body. Through new attempts to draw from behind the screen, with one’s back to the screen, or with the screen facing down, he created his own unique painting style, and the artist’s unpredictable and arbitrary physical movements produced expressionistic results.
