The changes of clouds and its precipitous beauty became his source of inspiration. Their mutual influence is significant, thus they are hailed as master of the "Huangshan School". Mei Qing drew his home landscape and climbed Huangshan Mountain since he was 32 years old. He felt full of passion for the wonderful picturesque landscapes,and from then on, he concentrated on drawing Huangshan. Although Mei Qing's painting are based on real landscapes, his drawings transcend reality through the artist's feelings expressed through them. Mei Qing died in 1697.
