Ramon Capmany Muntaner was born in 1899 in Canet de Mar. Muntaner was a painter, engraver and bibliophile. He was a disciple of Francesc Labarta at the Escuela de la Lonja de Barcelona. As a painter Muntaner devoted himself mainly to landscapes (especially of old Barcelona and Montseny), with a naturalistic style and faithful to the natural, detailed and with fine lines.
