Richard Killeen was born in 1946, and lives and works in Auckland. His diverse body of work includes hard-edged realism as well as abstracts and he is best known for his iconic, aluminum, cut- out works he started developing in 1978. By 1987 Killeen had begun to use a computer to generate images for his work, which led to his output becoming totally digital in 2003.
