Sally Anne Fitter was born in 1963. She studied ceramics at Bristol Art School gaining a First Class Honours Degree. After a textile design course at Chelsea School of Art, Sally set up and ran 'Digby Morton', a textile design studio in London. Fitter's designs have been selling worldwide for nearly 10 years to clients such as Ralph Lauren in New York and Liberty of London. In 2003 she turned professionally to painting. She has an "imaginative eye for colour, with a warm, rich palette". Her vigorous handling, developing surface textures, with numerous painting techniques, lead to a strong sense of design and composition.
