He painted in a style which combined the sensual and bizarre, going from abstraction to figurative imagery in the 1980s. He painted in a style which combined the sensual and bizarre, going from abstraction to figurative imagery in the 1980s. His dreamy agglomerations of cartoon-like creatures included men with crewcuts like the artist's own. Toward the end of his life, Miller painted images of strange and eerie organisms that fused characteristics of plants and the human body.
