He combines the tradition of Japanese simplicity with contemporary techniques and ideology. His works of wrinkled rice paper and subtle transitions of color created a totally individual style. He has strived to create his own individual style and philosophy of art, however, and feels that on artist should be independent in order to be truly creative.
