He founded the Antwerp Academy in 1664. Teniers III married Anna Maria Bonnarens on 4 April 1671 and fathered five children. The eldest child, David Teniers IV (1672-1731), appears to have been yet another painter in the dynasty and painted in the style of his more celebrated father.
